Make-up research (Fake facial hair)- Trey

This is a post I found explaining how to do a realistic looking shadow.
I will need Mascara and a foundation brush thingy and then lightly dab it on "Adam's" face to create the look of stubble.

A video of myself (Trey) applying it to myself will be up shortly.

Experiment Video. - Patrick and Trey.

                               EXPERIMENT VIDEO

Experiment:

This is a fight scene using subjective camera work. We did this to compare a POV beat down versus a medium shot from behind the person hitting. As you can see we chose the POV beat-down because it looks better and the audience gets a real feel for how hard he is being hit.
If we did choose the other one we would of had to have a stuntman (unless the subject doesn't mind being hit in the face) which makes the choice a little clearer. Doing the POV will be easier as well as better-looking.

For our final product we have chosen to do a POV shot to boost potential marks.

Make-up research (Fake blood)

For our fake blood research we went to http://thesecretyumiverse.wonderhowto.com/how-to/make-realistic-looking-fake-blood-0133528/. I read the contents before choosing and chose it because it is professional and provides a simple explanation as to how you can make different types of fake blood using different things.

As you can see, there are photos and a simple step-by-step instructions to show us how to make fake blood. Unfortunately, there are no videos so we have to test the fake blood before we make the final product to get the best effect.

Unfortunately Blogger won't upload the post with a screenshot of the website.

POST 2:

I have attempted to do so again but Blogger doesn't seem to like the screenshot.

Location (With Health And Safety)

Sports Hall

  •  The chair may damage the floor
Other than that the sports hall is vast and long which is very safe due to the amount of space, few doors and not a lot in the middle so no objects to bump into.

This location is ideal for our interrogation because it is vast and could look very stunning if we use low key lighting to give off a warehouse kind of feel. And this is what we aim for, to create a dark and dingy atmosphere which gives off the feel of bad things happen here.

Path to Container

The path to the container has cars in the way as well as a hard floor which could result in damage to equipment and/or ourselves.
The weather is currently bad which results in wet floor which increases the risk of dropping equipment or slipping.

The path is surrounded by cars. This gives the feel that it isn't deserted but it isn't over-populated. Showing the kidnappers to be in a town or village which is low key and has little crime rate, which shows they have thought out their kidnapping so they don't get caught.

Car Park

Same problems as the path to the container. The weather is bad and thus increases chances of damage. The floor is hard as well as being inhabited by cars which is dangerous as well.

Prop research and justification - Matt

The props used in our film are as follows;

  • Cigarettes are used at the start of our film. Iceman treads in one while he is walking towards Adam.  Patrick will be responsible for bringing the cigarettes; this gives the audience the feeling during the sequence that Iceman is a typical smoker; an inspiration from the movie "The Usual Suspects".
  • A chair is used. Adam, the stockbroker from Brighton, has been tied to a chair in the middle of an enclosed room. He has cuts and bruises on his face.
  • A knife is also used. Iceman points a knife towards Adam's face, threatening him. Iceman pulls him to the ground. This will be brought by Patrick. This will give the effect to the audience that Iceman is an evil man and that the movie will be based on thriller.

  • We use fake blood to show the cuts on Adam's face. We have researched about this and found a technique in order to use the fake blood. The blood on Adam's face will make the audience know that he has been tortured and that there's a reason why he's being tortured. This is will done by Trey. He has found a video on how to make fake blood and the link to the video will be posted here.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=e8B_zWTn5vU
  • We will also use Duct Tape to tie the victim's hands together. Patrick will be the one bringing in the Duct Tape. This is to tie up Adam to the chair.

Make-up research (bruises) - Trey

http://www.instructables.com/id/How-to-make-a-Bruise-Scratches-and-Cuts-with-Make/

For this tutorial I searched using Google "how to make a bruise using make-up". I avoided "WikiAnswers" because that can be edited by anyone, so I looked for specific keywords that show that the website were professionals.

As you can see there is a video tutorial as well as a picture of the end product. There was a comment at the bottom which said that this tutorial was great which made it more reliable. Thus, I learned how to make "bruises" with make-up.
